All of us do pachadis and side-dishes using vegetables, here's something new for all the food lovers out there, different combination of three fruits mango, jack fruit and dates. It's kind of sweet but goes good with the breakfast menu.
Mango - Jack Fruit - Dates Pachadi
Ingredients
Mango fruit - 1 (medium size)
Dates - 6 numbers
Pitted Jack fruit flesh - 2 numbers
Tamarind paste - 3 or 4 tsp (added more
as per taste).
Red chili powder - 2 tsp
Salt to taste
For the seasoning
Cooking Oil - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds -1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds -1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - one strip
Asafoetida - 1 pinch
Preparation
Remove the seeds from mango, jack fruit and dates. Cut
all the fruits and dates into small pieces.
Method
In a Frying pan put 1 tsp of cooking
oil and fry the ingredients listed for seasoning.
Add the fruit mixture and fry until
the mixture gets mixed well and then add the tamarind paste, chili powder and
salt. Sauté for 2 to 3 minutes until the raw taste disappears.
Now the dish is ready to serve.
This pachadi is good side dish for idly and dosa.
